Learning to shepherd an unknown flock , while maintaining apparent flock autonomy

چکیده

Shepherding in flocking models has been done since Craig Reynolds invented flocking using local interaction rules [4]. Since then most shepherding flocking models came with two agents: a herd-able agent and a shepherd. These agent were made for each other in the sense that they exert nice and realistic behavior when used together. In this thesis a method will be devised that is able to shepherd a wide range of flocks. Part of this method is that shepherds will have to learn how to shepherd a new flock. An extra restriction to this problem will be that the result should look natural. Learning to shepherd an unknown flock, while maintaining apparent flock autonomy 1/72

Influencing a Flock via Ad Hoc Teamwork

Flocking is an emergent behavior in which each individual agent follows a simple behavior rule that leads to a group behavior that appears cohesive and coordinated. In our work, we consider how to influence a flock using a set of ad hoc agents. Ad hoc agents are added to the flock and are able to influence the flock to adopt a desired behavior by acting as part of the flock. Specifically, we fi...

Evaluation of Broiler Health Status Through Flock Health Monitoring Program in Bangladesh

Flock health monitoring program is an important system, used in the poultry industry worldwide to minimize the production cost, detect clinical and subclinical diseases and acquire data to make comparisons among the farms and identify the future research area. The present study was aimed to investigate the broiler health status through a flock health monitoring program using the lesion scoring ...

Autonomous Shepherding Behaviors of Multiple Target Steering Robots

This paper presents a distributed coordination methodology for multi-robot systems, based on nearest-neighbor interactions. Among many interesting tasks that may be performed using swarm robots, we propose a biologically-inspired control law for a shepherding task, whereby a group of external agents drives another group of agents to a desired location. First, we generated sheep-like robots that...

Role of projection in the control of bird flocks.

Swarming is a conspicuous behavioral trait observed in bird flocks, fish shoals, insect swarms, and mammal herds. It is thought to improve collective awareness and offer protection from predators. Many current models involve the hypothesis that information coordinating motion is exchanged among neighbors. We argue that such local interactions alone are insufficient to explain the organization o...

Some Current Issues in Banking

As supervisor of the banks, the Reserve Bank has been likened to the shepherd tending his flock. Keeping the flock intact over the past decade, after the regulatory fences came down, has had its moments. A couple have wandered off, and a couple have lost more than their tails. But no carcasses litter the landscape. Indeed, the flock today is looking stronger and healthier than it has for some t...
